Shadows stretch long across the craggy peaks surrounding Professor Erasmus’s desolate castle, a haven for the ‘almost alive’. Within its crumbling walls, Stitch Head, the professor’s first creation, tirelessly tends to a motley crew of forgotten creatures. His days are filled with preventing Tiny from eating the furniture and ensuring the timid Creature doesn’t unravel completely from fright. Their sanctuary, however, is threatened by the arrival of Fulbert Freakfinder, a flamboyant circus impresario with a gleam in his eye and a proposition that could shatter their hidden existence. Fulbert sees in Stitch Head the star his failing freak show desperately needs, promising him acceptance and maybe even the affections of Madame Miranda, the circus’s enigmatic fortune teller. But leaving the castle means risking exposure to the pitchfork-wielding villagers below, a risk that could cost Stitch Head everything.
