Neon lights bled across rain-slicked streets as a frantic 911 call crackled through the speakers. “He…he can’t feel anything!” the caller screamed before static consumed the line. That was Nate Caine, and tonight, he was about to discover the blessing and curse of his unique affliction. Sherry, the woman Nate had been trying to impress with increasingly clumsy attempts at charm, was gone, snatched from his apartment without a trace. Roscoe, Nate’s conspiracy-obsessed neighbor, claimed to have seen shadowy figures lurking earlier. As the stoic Detective Mincy arrived on the scene, dismissing Roscoe’s ramblings, Nate knew he couldn’t rely on the authorities. Simon, a charismatic but shady figure from Sherry’s past, emerged as a prime suspect, leading Nate down a rabbit hole of underground fights and dangerous alliances. With each punch absorbed, each near-fatal blow shrugged off, Nate realized his inability to feel pain might be the only thing that can save Sherry now.
