The humid air hangs heavy over the prisoner camp, a miasma of sweat, fear, and the stench of untreated wounds. 1943, somewhere in the occupied Philippines. Around him, the other prisoners – the weary and wounded – watch with a mixture of hope and dread. Among them is Michael, a young American soldier, his face etched with the horrors he’s witnessed, and Gary, a hardened Australian medic struggling to keep the men alive with dwindling supplies. Sato, with a chilling smile, announces a series of “competitions,” brutal hand-to-hand combat where only the strongest will survive, designed to break their spirits and prove the might of the Japanese army. But Sato doesn’t know the true extent of Wright’s training, or the fight simmering beneath the surface. The games have begun, and survival is the only prize.
